“Samurai Sheep blip!”

Here is a quick spiritual blip that came to me as I was in prayer this morning.

Jesus is the greatest of warriors, but he is the warrior of love, a spiritual warrior, a warrior of righteousness, representing the Kingdom of God which operates by a different set of precepts and laws that are totally foreign to the ways of man. The Kingdom ways are so totally foreign to our own way of thinking, that it means a great transition in our own living and understanding for us to “follow” the Lord and produce the Kingdom in our own life.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)

So…if the Lord is to be the Master we choose to follow…then what does it mean to be samurai for Christ?

It means we must embrace humility. Pride is our enemy, and we must learn what it truly means to be the “sheep” of his “flock”. Pride is amazingly deceitful in its ability to creep in on us.

“Look, I am sending you out as sheep  among wolves.” (Matt. 10:16 NLT)

Remember , Pride is Poison to the Anointing. (Selah).

  1. Pride is so destructive and unfortunately, we don’t often recognize our pride for what it is. We must follow Christ’s example and humble ourselves so we can serve Him. May God open our eyes to the ways in which pride is creeping into our lives and seek His forgiveness.

    • Thanks for visiting my site, Shelly. I also took a quick look at your site and I saw you have a book? Do you have a place the book can be seen, and ordered? I’d like to check it out. God has me on a new journey of looking at his word through the eyes of a sheep. Perhaps I’m a good subject for that, because my secular life has had a lot of “cowboy” in it, and cowboys never particularly liked sheep. So I think the joke is on me, but I am amazed at the things I am now seeing! I’m not sure what this mixture of cowboy and sheep will produce, but I hope you visit again and watch the spiritual journey, and if you agree with the teaching, I invite one and all to join me on this journey. I think God is getting us ready for the last days and one last miracle that is going to come to his church. I’m convinced this teaching is preparing me for it.

      • Justacowboyforchrist, I really enjoyed your post. You can find my devotional called “Deeply Rooted” on amazon, Barnes and Noble, Lifeway and other websites. If you get a chance to check it out, let me know what you think. I think God has a great sense of humor. I love the cowboy and sheep combination. Blessings on your journey!

  2. I am trying to sift through the patterns of pride in my own life, too. The self-promotion “required” by writers seems greatly antithetical to the ways of God. No complete answers, yet, but more searching…

    • I believe you are right, Sean. When it comes to pride there is a line we can so easily cross, and we do not even realize. Many of us know that God’s answer to this time is II Chron 7:14, and the very first thing it says to do is: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall HUMBLE themselves…” Humility is the very first requirement! The whole time I was trying to be a superman for God, I thought I was doing the right thing, but my problem was that I had a wrong visual of myself. I thought if I knew enough word, prayed enough, and believed hard enough, that I was growing spiritually into something that might be compared to the Hulk, or something. Know what I mean? When in actuality, the more I decrease, the more Jesus can increase, and the more I become the sheep simply enjoying “His” benefits. The real power is when it is not even I who shows up! But it is the Lord who has been able to “ride in on me”, a vessel he can show up through! In America we have this Superman Christian and we do not even realize the pride that is infecting that image. My eyes have been opened to a real need, and I am taking this blogsite that direction. I’ve made a few changes I hope will help. So when God says “IF” my people…there is a very big “IF” there. As far as falling into pride as a writer? I only know that if we do not “sow”, we will not “reap”. So each of us must try to find God’s way of letting people know we are here, and we desire to be a “blessing” to the Body of Christ. I want to be a vessel God can show up through. Embracing my sheephood helps me to see how small I really am, in the hopes that others will see how big God really is! I know I’m running with this thing, but when this piece of the puzzle fell in place for me, it was like I knew I had finally solved a spiritual mystery that I had been seeking all my life. I found it in the most unexpected place! But now that I have found it, I cannot help but study it from every angle, and learn every little thing I can from it. I do not know what might be the revelation that will suddenly ignite a holy people for God to rise up in these last days? But I know this revelation has ignited me, and I cannot help but run with it! Hope you find your answers, brother. I know our Good Shepherd can certainly lead you to them, if we embrace our sheephood and let Him lead. Praise God!
